First Aid at Work
Osburn Academy is a member of The Federation of First aid Training Organisations and are bound by the regulations surrounding first aid training, content and assessment.
The Health and safety executive states that the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require you to provide adequate and appropriate first-aid equipment, facilities and people so your employees can be given immediate help if they are injured or taken ill at work. What is ‘adequate and appropriate’ will depend on the circumstances in your workplace and you should assess what your first-aid needs are. The minimum first-aid provision on any work site is: a suitably stocked first-aid kit; an appointed person to take charge of first-aid arrangements and information for employees about first-aid arrangements. It is important to remember that accidents and illness can happen at any time.
This 3 day first aid course provides learners with the comprehensive tools and skills needed to be confident in administering first aid in the workplace. Aimed at all individuals with the responsibility of dealing with first aid emergencies this course complies with the Health and Safety (first aid) regulations 1981 and the guidelines for the qualification of workplace first aiders.
Whilst learners will receive certification valid for 3 years Osburn Academy advise that each person attends an annual refresher to ensure skills and competencies remain valid and up to date, this is also in line with HSE recommendations.
